1. How was your journey with FIIB?

My journey with FIIB was very eventful and fruitful. I still cherish those times at the old FIIB campus and in fact, I vividly remember giving the vote of thanks speech during the foundation stone ceremony of the new campus. Other than classrooms, a lot of my time was spent in the library or in the office of our Placement Director as I was the placement committee convenor. Some of my key takeaways from learning on-ground were from Port visits, corporate visits, cold calling for placements in Delhi & Mumbai, and marketing projects. I could not forget the fun and bonhomie in the hostel that we had. During my internship, I remember taking multiple modes of transport to reach Palam Vihar, GGN to Noida those days (no metro) in the scorching heat. I am truly grateful to the FIIB faculties for providing the mentoring warmth while still being tough masters that helped to sharpen some of my rough edges.

2. How would you like to describe your leadership style?

I think leadership style evolves as we adapt and gain varied sets of experiences and increased sets of responsibilities in our careers. People say I mostly reflect “Servant-Leadership” traits with a high degree of empathy. But depending on priorities, I can also shift gears to “Transformational Leadership” from time to time.

3. How has PGDM contributed to your career success?

PGDM played a key role in my journey and it will continue. In addition to core concepts of Management, Business Strategy, Finance, and IB, it also helped me to take a step back and look towards a specific challenging situation as a ‘Case Study’. To me, that has really helped me to gain a wider perspective, learn, and adapt faster while still leveraging apt management. Nuts & bolts to progress collectively. FIIB’s pedagogy philosophy provided ample opportunities to develop an all-rounded personality. Maybe that helped me to win the first gold medal award for all-round performance in my batch.

4. Please share your biggest learnings coming from the corporates with us.

As long as we are willing to learn, empathize, and adapt quickly, it will help to fast-track career progression. Being self-aware, challenging your ideas, and bringing or facilitating fresh perspectives to transform and grow are highly valued across corporates. Over time, it also becomes essential to connect to people with compassion, value their development, and nurture a culture of growth mindset together.

5. What makes you stay in the present job role?

There are many drivers but mainly the excitement of start-up culture in a Fortune 40 organization, to lead every day with an ability to drive transformation and to be able to bring positive impact to people and business.

 6. Is there any message that you would like to share with the FIIB Community(students/management)?

FIIB family has come a long way since its inception, thanks to the vision and belief of its Founders and Leadership team. What I admire is the constant urge of FIIB to keep adapting, keeping its curriculum relevant, and aspiring with its relentless efforts to innovate while strengthening its connections with alma mater and corporates. It’s important to keep reminding the students that as an enabler FIIB continues to provide a strong platform but the students should take charge of their progress and make the best of this launchpad. For management, I would say that the competitive landscape is changing more rapidly than before post COVID with learners now being more open to exploring courses across different avenues, duration, and themes. Also, attracting and nurturing talent will be more important than ever.

Thank you and my good wishes to the FIIB family!
