NBA Accreditation: Why Does it Matter
We did it again! FIIB’s PGDM programme is now re-accredited by NBA
FIIB’s mission “To advance the practice of management, and develop leader-managers of business and social relevance” points to its three overarching goals : (Aiming for) Excellence in ‘Teaching’ (Goal 1), Excellence in ‘Research’ (Goal 2), and Excellence in ‘Stewardship’(Goal 3) that outlines the breadth of pursuit at FIIB.
In achieving our mission, we emphasize the values of quality, diversity and inclusion, a global mindset, ethics, social responsibility, and community. The spirit of continuous improvement is inherent to FIIB’s philosophy of growth and pursuing national (NBA- National Board of Accreditation) and international (AACSB- Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditations is a step in this direction.
The NBA Accreditation
The NBA accreditation is a rigorous process of quality assurance and improvement, whereby our flagship PGDM programme is critically appraised against stringent criteria laid down by the regulator. Earning the NBA accreditation is an assurance of the good standing of FIIB and demonstrates our accountability, commitment to excellence, and continuous quality improvement. This is a distinction that very few B-Schools have achieved and it is proof of the high quality of education at FIIB.
Benefits of NBA to our students
The NBA accreditation offers a lot of value to our students. The recruiters’ preference seems to have changed recently. Renowned organizations have accreditation as the main determinant during recruiting. Hence, NBA accreditation may become imperative and students from the NBA-accredited program may be given preference over the others for the hiring process. The recruiters value degrees of an accredited program the most, and thus it enhances the employability of our graduates. The accreditation facilitates recognition of degrees and mobility of graduates across the world and gives graduates of FIIB an advantage while seeking admission to premier universities in India and abroad for higher studies.
Benefits of NBA at the institutional level
It also helps create a sound and challenging academic environment in the Institution and contributes to the social and economic development of the country by producing high-quality technical manpower. The NBA process enables us to identify and overcome the teaching-learning gaps and develop strategies that maximize student learning outcomes. FIIB takes pride in developing graduates who are employable and capable of contributing to society at the global level and has, therefore, adopted the Outcome Based Education Approach (OBE) to map and measure student progress at every step of their journey in alignment with NBA standards. Students who undergo OBE as a medium tend to become smarter, and fully qualified for their future employment.
In summary, the NBA accreditation pushes us to continuously improve our programs and gives us a new sense of direction, and identity.
